COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
CASE, ITEM DISPLAY, FRAMED
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
1. Intended use. This commercial item description covers a framed showcase that displays small items for sale.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
2.1 Design and construction. The item display case shall be enclosed in tempered glass, minimum 3/16-inch thick and framed in anodized aluminum or stainless steel trim. The case shall be a two-thirds vision type showcase. The base shall have a vinyl woodgrain finish with a 4-inch high, black colored, recessed kickplate and a rear access storage space. The deck surface and interior rear door shall be white or platinum colored vinyl. The doors shall have roller tracks and lock. The case shall have a minimum display height of 26 inches and shall come with two adjustable 12-inch (+ 3 inches) wide tempered glass shelves. The case shall be equipped with fluorescent light fixtures, tubes, light reflectors the full length of the case, and an exterior light switch.
2.2 Electrical. Unless otherwise specified, the electrical requirements shall be 115 volts, 60 Hertz, single phase power source (see 5.1).
2.3 Dimensions. The dimensions of the display case shall be 72 inches long, 22 inches deep, and 39 inches high (+ 3 inches).
2.4 Codes and standards. The fluorescent light fixtures shall comply with the requirements of UL 1570.
3. CERTIFICATION.
3.1 Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description, conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practice, and is the same product sold in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
